Design Board

In the future I fancy doing some interior decorating. And when I do, I have discovered the perfect tool for keeping my colors, and other inspiration organized & easy to tuck in my purse. Children's board books!

I had a couple books partially destroyed by my little ones, and I couldn't bear to throw out the pages that were still good. I kept thinking maybe I would use them as birthday cards.

Well they have sat in my stationary drawers until now. For this project I covered the book page with scrapbook paper and an old calendar using spray glue. I then attached my fabric swatches, paint chips and magazine clippings on top of the coordinating paper and finished with twill tape along the spine of the board. Now I have an attractive presentation that is easy to take with me whenever I am shopping for this assignment.

Happy New Years!

Don't be blue, the new year can be exciting! Yes, it is sad to take down the pretty Christmas decorations, and yes your social calendar will slow down for a bit. Yet, this opportunity to simplify your home and time commitments allows you to focus inward. Think of the possibilities.

Yesterday in Sunday School I felt so inspired and ready to stay close to the Holy Ghost from now on. The thought accorded to me that if I really try, I could master all my personal flaws and weaknesses in 2010. Then where would I occupy my efforts during my remaining years? I soon woke myself up from la la land, but let me go ahead and share my new year's resolutions.

1. Sew for an hour each day, without letting my homemaking duties slide.

2. Continue to work on last year's goal: reading the Relief Society and Sunday School lessons ahead of time. There are multiple benefits from these efforts.

Amendment

In order to vacation with my family last week, I drove to Durango, Colorado and back without Daniel. This meant I was in complete control of the stereo. Of course Daniel and I have always enjoyed music together. It is actually one of our strong common interests, yet there are still some differences, so I took advantage of the situation and listened to my Kristen Chenoweth's Christmas album and a Michael Buble CD over and over again.

Now that I have returned home I have dug out my Donny Osmond album "This is the Moment" and am listening to that over and over again.

Amendment to List of Things I want to do before I die:

Record an album of musical theatre songs

My List of Things To Do Before I Die

After the boys are grown up and out of the house, here are some things I would like to accomplish:

Be a School Teacher
Own a Small Shop Filled with Beautiful Things
Perform the Lead in "Hello Dolly"
Run a Soup Kitchen
Interior Design for a Hotel
Run an Orphanage

I have many decades left in my life. I think its all do-able.
