The Spark of Creation

To continue my discussion from yesterday, I located President Uchtdorf's talk that I had heard bits from in Sunday School this week. "Happiness, Your Heritage" is on page 117 in the November 2008 Ensign.

I happened to listen to my CD of "Children of Eden". There is a song that Eve sings just before she is tempted to eat the forbidden fruit. I told you in my profile I really like Stephen Schwartz's music. The topics are usually about relationships and searching for one's own purpose, mixed with gospel principles. I hope I am not offensive when I say, I am surprised and excited whenI realize how much of the plan of salvation other Christians understand without having access to all the scriptures that we do in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Well, I am going to share some of these lyrics because I think they really fit with the concept of us being children of a creative being.

I've got a feeling that the father who made us

When he was kindling the pulse in my veins

He left a tiny spark of a fire

Smoldering inside

The Spark of Creation

Is flickering within me

The Spark of Creation

Is blazing in my blood

Where there is nothing

Let there be something

Something made by me!

I am an echo of the eternal cry of

"Let there be..."
